  1. Extrapolating human probability judgment.Daniel Osherson, Edward E. Smith, Tracy S. Myers, Eldar Shafir & Michael Stob - 1994 - Theory and Decision 36 (2):103-129.
We advance a model of human probability judgment and apply it to the design of an extrapolation algorithm. Such an algorithm examines a person's judgment about the likelihood of various statements and is then able to predict the same person's judgments about new statements. The algorithm is tested against judgments produced by thirty undergraduates asked to assign probabilities to statements about mammals.

Academic Integrity in the Information Age: Virtues of Respect and Responsibility.Tracy S. Manly, Lori N. K. Leonard & Cynthia K. Riemenschneider - 2015 - Journal of Business Ethics 127 (3):579-590.
This study examines business students’ ethical awareness for two virtues needed to maintain academic integrity, respect, and responsibility. Using the multidimensional ethics survey, five dimensions were measured for six scenarios representing student behaviors using Information Technology . The results indicate that students are ethically aware in respect situations, but are more neutral in responsibility situations. Of the five ethical dimensions, moral equity and relativism appear to be the strongest influences in academic integrity scenarios utilizing IT. This study provides guidance for (...)

What Happens When Students Are in the Minority: Experiences and Behaviors That Impact Human Performance.Charles B. Hutchison, Maria Abelquist, Tiffany Adams, Clifford Afam, Daniel Blankton, Brian Bongiovanni, Carletta Bradley, Winfree Brisley, Tracie S. Clark, David W. Cornett, Jim Cross, Betty Danzi, Arron Deckard, Ryan Delehant, Lauren Emerson, Angela Jakeway, LaTasha Jones, Stephanie Johnston, Kalilah Kirkpatrick, Karlie Kissman, Jeremy Laliberte, Melissa Loftis, Lisa McCrimmon, Anita McGee, Aja' Pharr, Crystal Sisk, Loretta Sullivan, Ora Uhuru & Ann Wright - 2009 - R&L Education.
This book offers both the theoretical background behind the minority effect, teachers' personal experiences as they experienced being a minority, and their analyses and insights for teaching diverse learners. This book uses real-life experiences of diverse people to illustrate that, if not understood and addressed, situational minorities at school or work are unlikely to perform at their highest potentials.

Ethical Behavioral Intention in an Academic Setting: Models and Predictors.Lori N. K. Leonard, Cynthia K. Riemenschneider & Tracy S. Manly - 2017 - Journal of Academic Ethics 15 (2):141-166.
This study examines the theory of planned behavior and the multidimensional ethics scale. Variables from both are included to determine which ones significantly correlate with student ethical behavioral intention in an academic setting. Using a survey, responses are collected from undergraduate business students from two southwestern universities in the United States using a scenario-based approach, looking at individual situations and group situations. SmartPLS was used to assess the results for four scenarios. From the theory of planned behavior, attitude was a (...)

Dangerous Dependencies: The Intersection of Welfare Reform and Domestic Violence.Nancy A. Myers, Andrew S. London & Ellen K. Scott - 2002 - Gender and Society 16 (6):878-897.
Using longitudinal, ethnographic data, the authors examine how the pursuit of self-sufficiency in the context of welfare reform may unintentionally encourage some women to develop alternative dangerous dependencies on abusive or potentially abusive men. In this article, the authors document how women ended up relying on men who have been abusive to them either for instrumental assistance or for more direct financial assistance as they struggled to move from welfare to work. The authors also document how some extremely disadvantaged and (...)

Towards an understanding of ethical behaviour in small firms.S. Vyakarnam, Andrew R. Bailey, A. Myers & D. Burnett - 1997 - Journal of Business Ethics 16 (15):1625-1636.
Allthough small business accounts for over 90% of businesses in U.K. and indeed elsewhere, they remain the largely uncharted area of ethics. There has not been any research based on the perspective of small business owners, to define what echical delemmas they face and how, if at all, they resolve them. This paper explores ethics from the perspective of small business owner, using focus groups and reports on four clearly identifiable themes of ethical delemmas; entrepreneurial activity itself, conflicts of personal (...)

    Lethal Language, Lethal Decisions.Tracy K. Koogler, Benjamin S. Wilfond & Lainie Friedman Ross - 2003 - Hastings Center Report 33 (2):37-41.
Although many of the congenital syndromes that used to be lethal no longer are, they are still routinely referred to as “lethal anomalies.” But the label is not only inaccurate, it is also dangerous: by portraying as a medical determination what is in fact a judgment about the child's quality of life, it wrests from the parents a decision that only the parents can make.

(1)Four varieties of primitive affect are distinguishable, characterised by (a) strain, and (b) relaxation in response to a favourable situation, and by (c) strain, and (d) relaxation in response to one unfavourable. Exhilaration, gladness and interest arise from (a); ease, bliss and contentment from (b); uneasiness, distress and repugnance from (c), depression, sadness and apathy from (d). (2)These affects are due to (i) the organic harmony or discord induced by the environment; wherewith are evoked (ii) innately purposive patterns of out-going (...)

    The undesired selves of repressors.Leonard S. Newman, Tracy L. Caldwell & Thomas D. Griffin - 2008 - Cognition and Emotion 22 (4):709-719.
People with a repressive coping style are highly motivated to defend themselves against self-concept threats. But what kinds of unfavourable personal characteristics are they most focused on avoiding? Weinberger (Citation1990) suggested that repressors are primarily concerned with seeing themselves (and having others see them) as calm, unemotional people who are not prone to experiencing negative affect. A content analysis of the actual (self-ascribed) and undesired attributes of 349 male and female college students, however, provided no support for that hypothesis. Instead, (...)

This study considered representations of divine and human others in the self-understanding of monotheists from three religions. Self-understanding was conceptualized on the basis of semantic and episodic knowledge in narrative response data. Given the importance of social context in the formation of cognitive schemas, the project emphasized self-understanding in a comparative religious design. The sample included sixty nominated religious exemplars who responded to a structured interview. Schemas were subsequently mapped for Jews, Muslims, and Christians by comparison of self and other (...)
